FFXIVhas always done a solid occupation of score its expansions add meaningful raw content , andDawntrailis no different , but after playing the secret plan for over a decennium , it ’s finally teach me a worthful lesson about MMOs .
Despite being a factious entry , I’ve adoredFFXIV : Dawntrailfor the most part . The last third of the game did n’t really click with me , but I still recover it enjoyable . More than that , the novel dungeons and visitation have been some of the best include inFinal Fantasy 14to date . The fresh job - Pictomancer and Viper - are also jolly fun . The Expert - level donjon are highlights following what ’s arguably the in force Main Scenario Quest dungeons seen in anFFXIVexpansion . And then there ’s The Strayborough Deadwalk , essentially a stroll through a haunted carnival ( and let ’s be honorable , asDonkey Kong Country 2once proved , ghost circus make great levels in video games ) .
Now , thanks to one of the minor post - Dawntrailupdates , anew raid send for the Arcadionis also available to try out . This futuristic fighting arena in Solution Nine might be the tough Normal Raid thatFFXIVhas ever had , but the car-mechanic of each engagement are still fun because they ’re so ambitious . Plus , the hebdomadal geartrain bead are n’t too shabby , either .
FFXIV : Dawntrail could ’ve impart some extra spice to the first half of its MSQ by including one specific mathematical group that plays a use in this job ’s quests .

The various Duty Roulettes are majuscule for grinding all the new Tomes ( and getting new gear ) with your level-100 character , but they can also be used for leveling up alt Job - include the two newfangled ones . Then there are the new Dawn Hunts , marked bill that unlock over the track of the MSQ until Elite Marks can finally be unlocked . Of naturally , for those who want something non - fighting - related to bask , there ’s also a new Sightseeing Log with over 40 locations to find .

I spend stacks of hours grinding for Atmas inA Realm Reborn , and now that substance is pretty much nonmeaningful ( and thankfully nerfed ) . Back then , I cerebrate I had to do everythingFFXIVhad to put up . Andwhile the MMO has since become more balanced , there are still donkeywork and still a lot of dailiesthat can become major metre sinkholes . Despite how greatDawntrailis , I ’ve decide not to emphasize about it so much anymore .
Over the last ten , I ’ve also sank a ton of sentence into daily and grinding things that really do n’t count .

The Arcadion raids are great , but I ’m not too interested with getting my weekly pearl . I drudge Dawn Hunts pretty quickly - long enough to get the raw chocobo barding - and then cooled on that . The Elite Mark still gets take down every week , but I ’m less interested with crossing off every mark from the various daily invoice . beau monde pursuance have also take a backseat , although I ’m certain I ’ll do them every solar day onceDawntrail ’s get here .
It’s Okay To Only Do The Content You Love
Do FFXIV Content That’s Fun For You
It ’s cracking thatFFXIVhas so much content , but MMOs can get more and more overwhelming as they add more content and get further into their lifespans . What I ’ve learned most is that I just do the subject that I find most fun . FATEs were never really my kettle of fish , and so I barely do them any longer - even if there are some nice wages and achievements . I have n’t vex about the Gold Saucer in years . I ’ll do all my Duty Roulettes if I experience up to it , but I no longer stress about doing it every single day .
It ’s not an issue withFFXIV ; it ’s an issue with me . I just do n’t have the time to do everything anymore . And if you prefer to do it all , that ’s with child . If you opt doing less , that ’s cool too . It ’s light to find like you have to do everything an MMO offers , but that ’s not really the case withFFXIV . Do Savage raids , spend hour in PvP , or just go pet animals in your Island Sanctuary . Chill outside your family and craft for a bit . And that ’s the genuine example I ’ve finally learned after playingFinal Fantasy 14 : Dawntrail- an MMO is what we make it .
