Do n’t bury Peter Schuler ( Norbert Weisser ) .
With Walter in the driver ’s arse , it ’s lifelike to want to settle down for himand against anyone getting in his way . of course , that include his wife Skyler , who , I admit , I was not a huge sports fan of on the first watch . Few people were really , and Skyler is oftenranked among the most hated TV character ever . I , however , no longer stand behind my badly - inform take and proudly exalt I ’m Team Skylar over Team Walter , a proclamation that would belike make Vince Gilligan , if he ever try it , roll his eye and say " no s**t " in his soft - spoken , understated way .
Despite being underappreciated as a character , Skyer White had multiple second in Breaking Bad that had consultation rooting for her story .
Skyler White Didn’t Get Nearly The Sympathetic Backstory That Walt Did In Breaking Bad
The Audience Only Sees Skyler Through Walter’s Eyes

Basically , nothing has go right for this guy rope in years . So , when he starts earning money , and more significantly , assurance , it ’s hard not to root for him . Even worse , we do n’t really know anything about Skyler , soit ’s easy to project whatever we want onto her .
Skyler White is the only fiber besides Walter to have dialogue in every sequence ofBreaking Bad .
Without a backstory , all we know about is the regretful parting of Skyler because we ’re watching her through Walt ’s oculus . If the case had more of a backstory , perhaps her time writing unforesightful stories , mayhap audiences would have gravitate to her . But that ’s not the point of the show . Walt is an unstoppable locomotive ruin everything in its path . Everyone and everything is crushed under his inexhaustible chase of infamy , even his wife and kinsfolk . From his ( and our ) perspective , she ’s obligate him back .

From Skyler White ’s view , she is in a horror movie . Or at least a psychological thriller . She was entirely contented and then , out of nowhere , her life history was upended . Not only was she placed in a grievous position , but the context were such that she could not run away without causing even more hurt , and Walt knew that . People like to luff out Sklyer walk into the pool as a frustrating character moment . Watch that vista again . Heisenberg is literally taunting her beforehand , dangling in front of her the normal life history she need but knows she can no longer have .
Skyler’s Affair Is Not As Bad As Being A Cold-Blooded Murderer. Period.
Walter Brought The Destruction Of His Family On Himself
But what about Skyler ’s occasion ? Well in earnest , what about it ? It emphatically was n’t cool , but her husband was a violent drug lord . Everything she think she make love about the adult male she married no longer mattered , and she had nowhere to turn . Ted Beneke ( Christopher Cousins ) was the only one to show her true forgivingness . Of course , she would feel safe with him . She take to play the part of a normal wife again before her family is destroyed .
As for Skyler " steal " Walt ’s money , that was so Ted would not expose her to the IRS . Like every conclusion Skyler make inBreaking Bad , it ’s to protect her crime syndicate . The only time it recoil is when Walt puts everything on the line without separate her . Walt claims he would do anything for his family unit . Well , Skyler actually would , include casting aside her pride and ego .
