The Australian champion revealed the conversation he and Gunn had , while looking at the possibility of returning for the new DC Universe , sharing the following :
I do n’t have talk with James . [ play a new character is ] a nice idea , but no , we ’re cool . We have n’t catch up for some time . But , yeah , look , adult male , I would bed to see that graphic symbol get on screen again , and if I ’m the guy cable to play it , then that ’d be even just . I remember own a conversation with him before we shot that instalment , and kind of feel like it was such a bummer that he was killing him off , because I felt like it derail any opportunity of any lateral motion within that world . And he was the one that was like , " You know that ’s not true . Anything could happen , these things jump time , they go back and off , and things . "
It sort of , actually , helped me chill out a picayune , because there was obviously an emotional attachment to that part , and I still feel like there ’s unfinished business . So , who knows ? If thing uphold to speed for me , and there ’s a time where the right people need to get involved , and we can make something more with that character , then I would obviously bed to . It was so much fun to take on him , and take him into a space that was n’t necessarily trammel to what we arrive to love , or if people did get to know him from the comics , it sort of was a role that jumped all over the place and had different loop over the years . So , I do n’t see why there ’s any reason we ca n’t continue to have that conversation . It ’s just about the correct people want to do it at the right fourth dimension , and yeah , I certainly would n’t be closed off to it .

The DCU Is A Soft Reboot Of The DCEU And Will Carry Over Some Actors And Characters
Since Gunn and Peter Safran come on board to fly the coop DC Studios , they have made it clear that the upcomingDC Universe franchisewill mostly be a reboot , with key characters , like Superman , being recast . However , that ’s not stopping the DC Universe from using some view of the DCEU franchise , asDC Studios is bringing back a fistful of doer to reprise their character , like Viola Davis ' Amanda Waller . Courtney ’s Captain Boomerang could be one of them , but without having to mess with his death inThe Suicide Squad .
