Set 300 years before the principal series , the prequel show will followAegon the Conqueror and his sisters as they wage warfare against Westeros with their dragons . Aegon ’s Conquestwas confirmedafter the success ofHouse of the Dragonand is still in the early stages of development . Mattson Tomlin will produce and drop a line the series , while swan has yet to be confirmed .
In an interview withThe Hollywood Reporter , Tomlin explained thatMartin is always unforced to answer questions by text . The creator felt that he was chosen because he relate Aegon ’s adventures to real - world experiences , but still regularly contact Martin to realize more about the world of Westeros . If Tomlin plans to remain faithful to the story , it will be challenging to shoot believable stakes . The Targaryens never lose a battle outside Dorne , and every win comes easily . Martin ’s intimacy should make the transition simpler , given that he has make for with TV version before and knows every hush-hush detail of Aegon ’s Conquest . Martin can share the horror that Westeros faced , the brutality of Aegon ’s plans , andthe influence of Aegon ’s prophetic dreaming . His knowledge would also be critical , given his feedback onGame of ThronesandHouse of the Dragon . Even with Martin ’s supporter , Aegon ’s Conquestwill be difficult to adapt .
