This clause contains spoilers about Bridgerton season 3 .
Summary
Lady Whistledown has always been one of my favored parts ofBridgerton , but after Penelope ’s season 3 confession , I ’m wondering why the gab column should continue at all . During thefinale ofBridgertonseason 3 , Penelope finally revealed to the Queen and the ton that she was Lady Whistledown . Her emotional language dissemble as an apologia and a assurance . She predict to use her power for good . However , I think Penelope ’s revealing only makes Lady Whistledown unsound . In fact , I ’m not sure the iconic , sassy character should even continue into the future ofBridgerton .
After watchingwhat happens to Lady Whistledown , I do read whatBridgertonwas test to do . Penelope could not be with Colin until she came clean to him , and she could not give up Whistledown without giving up a part of herself . The column is her only form of representation . However , the storyline began getting dicey when Queen Charlotte got involved . With the Queen on her tail and the Bridgertons ' reputation at stake , Penelope spill her secret to everyone . While I realize that she wanted to apologize for the hurt she have , Penelope ’s admission fee took all the fun away from Lady Whistledown .
The third time of year of Netflix ’s Bridgerton add a smorgasbord of characters that audiences know and get it on , and sword Modern face to study more about .

Penelope Continuing As Lady Whistledown Doesn’t Really Make Sense
Lady Whistledown Is Supposed To Be Cutting
After Penelope ’s grand language at the remainder ofBridgertonseason 3 , Lady Whistledown does n’t really make sense anymore . By promising to compose in a more positive way , Penelope is losing what is so entertaining about Lady Whistledown . I care Lady Whistledown so much because she is burn and intend . She brings the short ton down a wooden leg in a way that no one else will . Sure , I can admit that Penelope has hurt multitude ’s belief with Lady Whistledown , but everything she has drop a line has been truthful . As she wrote in season 3 , Lady Whistledown " can not tolerate a lie . "
I thinkBridgertonneeds Lady Whistledown because of her remorseless honesty .
If Penelope starts write Lady Whistledown in a kind mode , the compass point of the pillar will be lost . Penelope said she wrote Lady Whistledown because she wanted to colligate to the long ton , but at this spot , she has risen above it . In a way , Lady Whistledown is an chance for the short ton to reflect on their lip service and misbehavior . If Penelope cease pointing out the net ton ’s criminal offense , then their ridiculous rules and expectations will go unchecked . I thinkBridgertonneeds Lady Whistledown because of her remorseless honestness , and I fear Penelope ’s confession has ruined this .

The Ton’s Reaction To Penelope’s Lady Whistledown Reveal Is Underwhelming
Penelope’s Reveal Feels Pointless
Another aspect of Penelope ’s Whistledown speech that did n’t sit well with me was the ton ’s reaction . For the first meter ever , Penelope put herself in the spotlight and revealed the secret everyone was desperate to make love . Yet , the long ton did dead nothing . Everyone watched in silence as Penelope gave them the answer they had all been looking for . IfBridgertonwanted me to believe that the net ton was angry at Whistledown for what she had written , I should have realize a much bigger chemical reaction than whatBridgertonseason 3 , epiosde 8 gaveme . All we get was still shock .
Bridgerton’sLady Whistledown is voiced by Julie Andrews .
disregardless of how the ton reacted , I wishBridgertonhad give us some reaction at all . After her words , Penelope said she would likely be face up by distraught mortal afterward . Well , I would have like to see that hap in substantial - time . The Lady Whistledown revelation is incredibly anticlimacticbecause no one seemed to have anything to say about it . Though we saw Colin ’s betrayal and Portia ’s letdown , the ton gave us nothing . It might have been better to have the Lady Whistledown secret final stage in a mess of chaotic emotion rather than tied up in a cracking but indifferent bow .

How Bridgerton Season 3’s Whistledown Reveal Should Have Happened
Penelope Should Have Kept Up The Mystery
Overall , I thinkBridgertoncould have handledthe Lady Whistledown revealbetter . First and first of all , Penelope should not have tell the entire net ton her arcanum . Although the long ton may have want to confront Whistledown for what she had write , they continued interpret the column regardless . Part of their enjoyment was the mystery behind the writer ’s mordacious run-in . If Penelope had maintained her namelessness , the short ton could have continue happily record Whistledownwhile being held accountable for their action . Penelope did not necessarily have to separate them her plan to practice her composition for skilful .
In the death , I thinkPenelope should have just told her home and the Queen . Though the ton did not need to be part ofthose who knew Penelope was Whistledown , Charlotte would not have lay off her lookup . Therefore , Penelope should have gathered the Bridgertons , the Queen , and Lady Danbury and told them the true statement . This would have halted the Queen ’s Wiccan Richard Morris Hunt and allow the Bridgertons to know Penelope ’s verity . Then , Lady Whistledown could have recall to being the scathing gossip columnist she always had been . alas , though , Bridgertonhas take away my ideal reality .
