Tell me about the show ! What sets it asunder from other real romp show ?
I think there are two main things that set us apart from other show . The first is our rotate Dungeon Master ( DM ) . Every season , a different cast of characters phallus sits in the DM ’s chair ( if they want to ! ) and they get to tell their own story and showcase their strengths . It prove how anyone has the power to run a game of D&D and was one of the thing that drew me to the show as a fan . The second is our length of service . It was recentlymentioned elsewherethat we are the longest - running of the show that premiere at the same case . We ’re by no means the longest - flow real frolic on the cyberspace , but I believe it ’s a testament to us as a show and a mold that the great unwashed require to keep observe us !
What about your account in the TTRPG community — how did you get embark on ?
My first exposure to TTRPGs was with building lineament in D&D 3.5 right out of gamey school , but I did n’t really play until 4th Edition ’s sunset in 2013 . I picked up the 5th Edition Player ’s Handbook the day it was release , but like many people , it was Critical Role that got me back to the tabular array in 2016 . People will talk about how vivid look out them play can be , and I was no unlike . After I binged the first 50 episode in three week ( and have been caught up ever since ! ) it was prison term to find my own table . I feel a group that was consort one of the hardcovers at my FLGS and never look back . From there , I finally became an Adventurers League DM and started run games at convention , which was where I match many of the then - current Rivals cast , who I became friends with before joining the plaster bandage .
What is your favorite secret plan to encounter and why ?

I ’ve been pretty intemperately into D&D since TTRPGs became my primary hobby , but I ’m always search into new system and sample new games . I ’ve dabbled in Vampire : the Masquerade and the Star Wars RPG . Most lately I playedKeeper of the Cards , a GM - less magical girl - themed secret plan by Jamila Nedjadi , that I enjoy very much . differentiate a good story is by far my favorite part of TTRPGs , and that plot was one of the good experiences I ’ve had doing that .
mistreat off from TTRPGs for a second , though , I do have sex a near board / card secret plan ! In this clip where it ’s not so safe to get together with champion , I ’ve been play a fate of solo Marvel Champions and Magic the Gathering : Arena since COVID-19 hit , but my plank game solicitation has been gather so much detritus .
What is your favorite class inDungeons and Dragonsand why ?
I definitely do n’t have just one . I continuously circle back to classes that muse my real biography passions and strength , so bards , cleric , Druid , and Thelonious Monk credibly get the most playtime . I have backgrounds in music , flow arts ( spinning hula hoops , poi , staff , and the like ) , and massage therapy / healthcare , and I love supply that sort of flare to my lineament . With D’hani , my Rivals character , I require to lend something to the table that had n’t been there before in terms of both division and race , and I want something that I could draw from my own experience with , so I produce a staff - wielding monk . That also bechance to be a bird .

How are you all atRivalscoping with the Covid-19 crisis ? Has being unable to play around a table changed the atmosphere of the biz ?
I believe it decidedly has . It ’s a lot strong to play off of each other when you ’re not sitting at a table ; facial expression are more difficult to translate and we ’re always in danger of utter over each other because we do n’t recognise when someone wants to say something . For me , personally , I have some difficulties keeping my focus during online games , so sometimes it ’s a struggle to stay immersed . I ’m very bummed to have only buzz off one chance to posture around the studio apartment table with everyone before the pandemic , and I ’m looking fore to when we can get back to play in person .
You ’re jolly new to the cast , but what is your preferred in - plot moment withRivalsso far ?
Definitely the first episode of Season 7 . We establish that four months have passed since the end of time of year 6 , so my character has been with the Rivals for long enough that I could be as comfortable with the character as I am with the players and , without giving away too much , we discover that the manor house we ’ve been live in might be in jeopardy due to some … shenanigans . Our DM Shareef couch our former mould mate Surena ’s character into an NPC function that is true to the character , and we get to meet newest Rival Masood ’s character in a very uproarious manner . It had everything I ’d want to watch in an actual play game .
What are your hope for the future ofRivals of Waterdeep ?
I just need us to keep going and keep tell story ! I ’d get laid to seat in the DM ’s president if we get more seasons . I want more people to see that you do n’t have to have years of spell experience or an encyclopedic cognition of every D&D leger to tell a good write up . All you need is some friends uncoerced to listen and be patient with you and an idea to share .
