The comic seriesTales of the JediandDark Empiretogether established the Outer Rim planet Ossus as an ancient Jedi earth . It was attacked during theGreat Sith War , lead to its abandonment and a former cataclysm turning the lavish major planet to ruin . But most importantly , during its heyday , Ossus was a center of knowledge for the much more decentralised Jedi Order of theOld Republic era .
This caused Ossus to be abandoned for thousand of years , up until the period right away after the Yuuzhan Vong War .
