Minnie Driver : I guess it ’s really the animated thought of power , and what that looks like , and what it mean to be a powerful adult female , which plain , today , has never been more apposite . surely , women in any form of office , have been scarce in our history , and getting to see this more slimly modern version of Elizabeth , even though this is a flow show , there is modern storytelling in it . It ’s the exploration of power and sexual activity and politics .
speak of muscular women , how would you describe the dynamic between Elizabeth and Catherine this time of year ?
Minnie Driver : They really square off . Catherine thinks that they want the same matter , but they really do n’t . Elizabeth is really on a form of factfinding commission , but they are two very powerful char who total together and go point - to - head , and it cease pretty spectacularly . What ’s interesting is look out two women endeavor to manipulate each other , because we so often see women trying to manipulate military personnel , or humans trying to manipulate women . It was interesting for it to just be this power struggle between two women who are both very articulate , and are both complete survivors . It was really terrific , terrific sport .
