Clark Was Intrigued By The Feeling Of Dread Throughout Starve Acre
Screen Rant : Your director mentioned that you enjoyed repugnance and gothic films . How did this film digest out to you from other movies in those genre ?
Morfydd Clark : I recall what I really liked about it was the atmosphere and the feeling that there was this creeping dread of nature encroaching . That ’s something I care in repulsion , when you feel totally surrounded by the vibe of it all . Even if nothing ’s really happening , this dread is still there . I find the idea of a union not going well just absolutely horrific . It ’s kind of a horror that we all have access to . I found a normalness of it with the horror .
As you were saying , a big part of the story is the effect that disaster can have on a marriage . How did you and Matt approach the family relationship between Juliette and Richard ?

Morfydd Clark : It ’s not that these characters do n’t wish each other . They can not let themselves be see . It would be so painful to be truly opened that they just close up themselves off . I also felt really interested in looking at this idea of folklore and custom , but also seeing a couplet experiencing brokenheartedness in a position where there does n’t seem to be any ritual around it and that ’s quite damaging to them .
They ’re just left naked and alone to cope with this enormous loss , so then they research for something that can serve it . I ’m fascinated with what people do when their actual existence is so unspeakable that they have to search for something more to make it make common sense . The answer can hail and be good , or it can be something really exploitive , and they match quite an exploitative little hare .
Clark Felt Lucky To Have Matt Smith As Her Co-Star On Starve Acre
You and Matt are both from big - budget fantasy display , so what was it corresponding to come together to work on a project with a much smaller mold ?
Morfydd Clark : It was a blessing for me . I do n’t experience if he ’d say that , because essentially , he calm me down about accept a big serial publication coming out , because I had never done that before . He was like , " You ’ll be all right . It ’s a lot of sport . " So I experience so lucky that I was with him . We were in this theater in the middle of nowhere .

Morfydd Clark : I find very favourable that I ’ve come into playacting place " Me Too , " berth lots of women doing pot of things to make my existence in this diligence better . I kind of experience that for all the women of the past times , and Juliet go a very different sprightliness to me where she is n’t allow to lessen asunder , is n’t allow to really show herself .
She kind of was live a tradwife cosmos . That ’s just have a bun in the oven of her . I was recall of all the things that I can do that she would n’t be able to . I can be very expressive , I ’ve been brought up to be allowed to be , and she was n’t . It ’s looking at all the things that were different from us , not the things that were the same .
Before I roll , is there anything you’re able to tease about Galadriel inThe Rings of PowerSeason 2 ?
Morfydd Clark : I ’m always very scared to tease . I would just say the deadly opposition hate each other even more than before , and they ’re look even good than they ever did .
