The Mandalorian

One aspect ofThe Mandalorianthat I have long been confound about is Din Djarin ’s ignorance of the Jedi , yet some constituent of his story could explain this . WhenThe Mandalorianfirst aired in 2019 , I never would have considered it would become as important to the dealership as it is presently . UpcomingStar Warsmoviesare being produced centre aroundThe Mandalorian , while seasons 2 and 3 tied together the stories of Din Djarin with major Jedi type ofStar warfare ' New Republic timeline , such as Ahsoka Tano and Luke Skywalker .

More so thanThe Mandalorian ’s importance toupcomingStar WarsTV showsand movies , it is the show ’s joining with the Jedi that has continued to surprise me the most . What has often bewildered me about this plot line is that Din Djarin has little noesis of the Jedi Order , despite the New Republic epoch only taking billet 20–30 year after the space wizards were at the acme of their power . Furthermore , Din was orphaned during the Clone Wars , before the Empire eradicated all public knowledge of the Jedi . Despite my confusedness , The Mandalorianhas provided reasoning for Din ’s ignorance .

The Mandalorian ’s story will continue with a Star Wars movie . Here ’s everything we know about the project , include cast , release , and timeline .

It’s A Big Galaxy, & There Were Only Ever 10,000 Jedi

The Maximum Number Of Jedi Does Not Come Close To Covering The Entire Galaxy

One of the reasons that explains why Din Djarin did not have extensive noesis of the Jedi is plainly the sheer size of the beetleweed . I was appalled to learn Din had not heard of the Jedi , but reach the population of the galaxy vastly outbalance the 10,000 Jedi that existed at the Order ’s peak , my surprise is lessened somewhat . The universe of almost every planet inStar Warsis immensely larger than 10,000 , so it do signified for those evoke in the Outer Rim to be unaware of the Order .

Coruscant alone is forecast to have a universe of three trillion people , mean it is highly likely there were even some live on the homeworld of the Jedi Temple who were unaware of the Order ’s existence . When extending this beyond the Core Worlds , I am more inclined to think that Din Djarin had only heard momentary whisper of the Jedi , especially given his position in theexpansiveStar Warstimeline . If the Jedi Order was much larger , perhaps I would be more dubious of Din ’s ignorance , but the relatively small number of the former is preponderate by the universe of the galaxy .

Din Would’ve Been Raised On Legends Of Mandalore, Not Jedi

Din’s Upbringing Likely Meant The Jedi Were Not Commonplace

Another reason that lessens my shock of Din not recognise of the Jedi is his puerility . Din was raised on the satellite of Aq Vetina , which only became wrapped up in the galactic conflict ofThe Clone Wars later in its timeline . Even upon Din ’s home plate being attacked by separationist , it was Mandalorian warrior that saved him , not Jedi Knights . Din was then raised as a Child of the Watch , in all probability being fetch up on fable of Mandalorian Italian sandwich and not those of the Jedi Order .

The lack of Clone Wars conflicts on Aq Vetina would have mean the Jedi did not visit the planet .

moreover , the Children of the Watch base from the renegade faction of Mandalorians call Death Watch . Unlike the Mandalorians under Satine Kryze ’s rule during The Clone Wars , Death Watch were enemies of the Jedi Order . As such , it is unlikely that their descendant would teach foundlings anything relate to the Jedi , further explaining Din ’s lack of knowledge . Despite my initial muddiness , it turns out there are several reasons whyThe Mandalorian ’s Din Djarin would be incognizant of the Jedi , all of which logically outfit his backstory and that of theStar Warsgalaxy .
